Related to the ginger plant, Turmeric is a root used for both its flavour and colour. The musky flavour of turmeric is essential in curry dishes, especially the vegetarian versions, that are highlighted by the aromatic, peppery, fresh, aroma with hints of orange and ginger.  Very high oil content.
