Black Chanterelles (Craterllus Cornucopioides) are smaller and more rare than chanterelles. Trumpet shaped and fragile, with a charcoal outer surface, Black Chanterelles have an incredibly rich and buttery flavour. This rich and deep flavour works especially well in vegetarian cooking.
Re-hydrate by soaking in boiled water for 15-20 minutes or added directly to a dish cooking for at least 25 minutes, Black Chanterelles will re-hydrated 3-4 times their dry weight.
